My Summer 2013 | ♥

The Summer holidays have drawn to a close and I'm reflecting on my activities over the break. I've had 7 whole weeks off school and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've had a brilliant summer and for once I don't feel like I've wasted it in bed. I needed the time out from school and I feel so much happier than I did a few months ago. However, I also feel ready to go back to school as getting back into a routine doesn't seem like SUCH a bad thing.
Anyway, here's some photographs of just some of my fun shenanigans over the Summer... a little insight into my life, if you will.

I missed the last week of School to go on holiday with my family. We went to Cala'n'Forcat in Menorca and it was such a lovely, relaxed, sunny holiday. It was fab.

Here's me, my 11 year old brother, Josh, my 1 year old brother Reuben and my stepdad Ady smiling for the camera before an evening venture out.

Here's me, my mum, Josh, and Reuben, posing next to a 'giant pineapple' at our holiday resort. Happy smiley faces all around (except awkward Reuben, of course)

This was the absolutely stunning view of the little cove next to our resort, it was literally a three minute walk. Unfortunately we couldn't swim in the water, due to masses of Jellyfish, but that didn't ruin the beautiful scenery.

My mum, Ady and Roo posing before a meal out.

Me and my mum (also posing) before the meal. Isn't she beautiful?

Holiday romance?! of course. The batman statue was mighty fine.

All inclusive alcohol is not always a good thing. "Tonight I am sleeping on this banister."

My holiday was well and truly fabulous.

After returning from one holiday, I was off on another a few days after. I went on a boating holiday on the Norfolk broads with my best friend Emily. It was such a chilled out holiday and a really slow pace of life and I'm really grateful I got the opportunity to experience a holiday like this.

Me and my VERY beautiful best friend Emily, chilling in the sunshine on the deck of the boat. happy happy happy times. We also went with another family and their kids as well as Emily's little sister and below is a picture of all us kids ;-)

My Grandma turned 70 this summer, so she obviously had a kick-ass (kinda) party to celebrate. She requested that everyone was to dress up in 1960's rock and roll gear, so we tried our best.

My mum looked so glamorous on the night of the party, as you can see. I think our outfits were really good, we didn't look stupidly over the top, but you could tell we'd made that effort. Such fun!

My brothers didn't "dress up" as such but they did all wear matching outfits which was adorable. Cuteness overload.

Me looking slightly tipsy towards the end of the night posing with my boyfie, who coincidentally was also wearing an outfit that matched my brothers...

Group shot... we definitely pulled off the fancy dress.

I also received two of my GCSE results as at my school we sat two GCSEs early (in year 10) I did really well and I'm really proud of myself, so of course celebrating was in order!!!

Me and Emily celebrated with a cheeky glass of champagne, and my mum and Ady took me out for a meal (world buffet...mmm)

Celebrating with a mocktail at the world buffet.

Mum bought me some lovely flowers, a well done card and of course my favourite chocolate to say well done, I am spoiled :-)

In January my Auntie got diagnosed with breast cancer and it's been a tough battle since, but recently she's been given the all clear. YAAAAAAAAAAY. We all took part in a Bra-B-Q where she burnt all her old bra's and we were required to bring one to burn with her, it was really fun and we all had a takeaway and it was so nice to all catch up.

*kings of leon tune* OOOOOOOOH OUR BRAS ARE ON FIRE.

My beautiful, brave, inspirational auntie posing with her Bra-B-Q.

Bit of a rubbish picture, but me and my auntie all smiles later in the night. I had such a good time.

We also took a 5 day trip up to Yorkshire to visit family, but I didn't get many photos, other than this one of me and mum looking very disheartened as we had just left on a walk...and it began to rain.

Also, I went to a baby's first birthday party... yes... I party hard... but anyway, I had this really cute picture taken with my baby cousin Ollie, isn't he just adorable?

Speaking of babies, I attended one of my mums bestest friends baby showers. Baby shower's are such fun events, I help plan my mums suprise one when she was pregnant with Reuben, it's just a chance for the mother to be to chill out with her friends and play silly games and chat for hours on end. Fun if you ask me...

Earlier in the summer, my younger cousin Alice had her prom, so I went to watch her arrival as her school (my old school) make a pretty big deal about it!

Can you believe she's my younger cousin? She looks so much older than me. Also on this photo is my two other best friends, Jordan (left wearing denim shorts) and Ellie (right in the white dress) Alice looked like a princess and I was so happy for her.

Finally, me and my friends had a get together at Emilys house two days before we went back to school, there was 14 of us in total and we ate chinese, played silly games, chat and drank and stayed up until stupid-o'clock in the morning. It was lots of fun and another great memory to add to all the amazing things I've done this summer. Here's a very smiley Me and Emily to end this very positive blog post.

Thanks for reading, and I hope all of your summer's were as fabulous as mine felt!

The red ones | NOTD | ♥

There's nothing better than some classic red nails. This varnish is from Nails Inc in the shade St James and is a beautiful red with a discreet pink shimmery undertone. Very elegant and glamorous, applies like a dream although I find Nails Inc to chip on my nails in just a day or two. This nail varnish is available to purchase here.

A recent haul | Primark, Boots and H&M | ♥

Recently, I have been shopping and bought a few things or had a few cheeky things bought for me, so I thought I'd share them with you in a picture haul <3

Candle crazy?! not me. Okay so I went a little overboard on the candles, but they smell sooo nice! In total I bought 7 of these lovely Candles: fruit fusion, fresh cut roses, vanilla satin, wild passion fruit, pink dragon fruit, vanilla cupcake and pink lady slipper. I think my favorite scent is pink lady slipper. I also bought another little glass holder to burn them in. Simple, but cute. Each candle was just under £2 and can be purchased here.

I also brought some adorable Navy patterned trousers from the Primark sale for just £7. They're cropped and finish half way down my shin and have such a lovely print and a classic belt with them. I bought them mainly because they reminded me of some trousers Serena Van Der Woodsen (gossip girl) would wear... and obviously that made me instantly love them!!

I also purchased two lip products. Firstly a Natural Collection lipstick in the colour Rose Bud. It's a your-lips-but-better pink and has a creamy half glossy consistency. I LOVE these lipsticks. I was then treated to a new Apocalips lip gloss from Rimmel in the colour Celestial which is really similar to the lipstick as you can see in the swatches. The gloss is more pigmented however and glossy, but the lipstick lasts longer.

Less than a month and I'm back to college, so the school uniform shopping begins. I picked up two pairs of black super high waisted skinny jeans from Primark for £10 each and a black skater skirt for £12.99 from H&M. I don't want to go back to school :'(

I also purchased some new nail varnishes. I bought a L'oreal nail varnish after reading that they apply brilliantly and stay on well. The L'oreal one is in the shade 106-versailles gold and as said, applies fabulously. The two Barry M Gelly Hi Shines are in the shades 328 Key Lime (the greenest one) and 326 Greenberry (the bluer one) and both apply and stay on wonderfully. Finally, the yellow polish from Rimmel is in the shade 280 Sunshine (pretty name!!) and I'm yet to try it out.

I also picked up some plain black pumps from Primark for around £2 because my old ones were well worn out. Mother picked me up two new pairs of BEAUTIFUL heels from an outlet near where we live for SOOO cheap. Some bright blue and bright orange shoes with cork style heels... shame I can't yet walk in them.

I picked up a new pencil case for back to school from Primark... it has a cat on it... Meow. I LOVE it and it was only £3 as was this gorgeous statement necklace, also from Primark.

Finally I bought a new T-shirt skater dress from Primark for only £5 and a bowler hat from H&M for £7.99... both of which I love. I'm still working on developing the confidence to wear my hat in public... but I'm getting there and I love this new outfit!!

Thanks for giving my post a read, i hope you enjoyed reading about my recent purchases!

OOTD: | flowers and headbands | ♥

This outfit was worn on a warmer one of these British summer days for a casual trip out to the park for a 1st birthday party! (babies -swoon) It was incredibly comfortable and perfectly appropriate for the weather and the activity of the day :-)

The outfit as a completed look.

The skirt is a denim look skater skirt from New Look and it was around £15. My navy boat shoes were from an outlet store near to where I live and they were also around £15.

My headband is a crocheted kind of white print with a wired bow, it is so cute and it was from the New Look sale. My makeup is pretty much my everyday wear and my Lipstick is Max Factors Coral Blossom shade 835, a redish orange! My silver bracelet is a Nomination bracelet and the white shell one is from my holiday in Menorca.

The top is from George @ Asda a year or so ago and I still love it now!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this OOTD post. Sorry I haven't posted recently, had a busy July but I have plenty of posts planned for the near future.
